Student Activism

These students from Greenfield Academy are the charges of teacher Shoshanna Cohen. Not content to simply teach academics, Ms. Cohen encouraged her class to engage in humanitarian activism and to take a stand for human rights in Darfur. The result was children demonstrating that poverty, inhumanity and suffering do not have to be the earmarks of tomorrow's Africa and that even as we focus on the rich lives we live, we can still focus on the global events that may not affect us directly.
